situación #3 was commissioned by Impulse New Music Festival for Brightwork Ensemble. The piece is based on the memory of a brief moment during a road-trip from San Diego, CA to Tempe, AZ. There are two main sources from which I drew inspiration: the aural image of those minutes during the travel that got printed in my memory, and a series of pictures I took then. The piece is the result of something between the re-interpretation of an aural memory and the translation of a visual record into sound.
